It appears summer has fully left us so now is the time my body wants to eat, eat, eat ready for hibernation... and who am i to deny my body?
Lately i've been craving a good roast dinner so last night was the night!
- For the parsnips, carrots & sprouts i peel/chop, toss in olive oil, a little salt and sometimes some rosemary and then roast them.
- Roast potatoes done well are the best thing in the world so first i par-boil them, then toss them in vegetable oil and roast them too!
- For the "meat" we had a hazelnut cranberry roast from Field Roast and the stuffing balls i whipped up out of leftover burger buns, veg butter and some herbs and stock.
- Lastly were the Yorkshire puddings that i was experimenting with (traditionally they contain eggs and milk) that came out way too doughy and didn't rise but i'll get 'em next time!
What are your must-haves for your Sunday roast?
